2012 SWYMFIT SWORDFISH

SUMMER SWIM TEAMS

 

Tuesday June 5th through Saturday August 11, 2012


 

 

 


Junior Swim Team:

  • For our swimmers ages 6 and up
  • Must be a Level 4 or higher and be able to dive and comfortably swim: 75yds freestyle, 50yds backstroke, and 25yds butterfly.
  • Will practice 3x/week for 1 hour each practice

Practice Schedule:

 

    Tuesdays and Thursdays:   5 - 6:00 pm

    Wednesdays:  4 - 5:00 pm

Senior Swim Team:

  • For our swimmers ages 8 to 18
  • Level 5 must be able to perform "racing dive" and comfortably swim: 200yds freestyle, 100yds backstroke, 100yds breaststroke, and 50yds butterfly.
  • Will practice 3x/wk for 1.5 hrs each practice

Practice Schedule:

    Tuesdays and Thursdays:  6 - 7:30pm
    Wednesdays:  5 - 6:30pm  

   

Meet Head Coach Matt Northrup!

Matt's swimming career began early, and in high school he was a five-time All-American and two-time New York State Champion. His swimming career continued into Boston College, where he was a varsity member of the Eagles for four years and set three school relay records. Matt has earned his certification for Safety Training as a Swim Coach by the American Red Cross. Last fall, he was an assistant USS Club Swim Coach for the Syracuse Chargers in his hometown of Syracuse, NY.


 

Meet Assistant Coach Kristine Hall!

Kris brings fifteen years of swim lesson experience and a bubbly personality to her Swymfit coaching. With a Bachelors Degree in Special Education, an Associates Degree in Human Services, and a certification in American Sign Language-Deaf Studies, she has worked in both public and private education for the last eleven years. She taught ASL to kids and staff at the Cotting School.

Aqua Club Team:

  • For our swimmers ages 6 and up
  • Must be a Level 4 or higher and be able to dive and comfortably swim: 75yds freestyle, 50yds backstroke, and 25yds butterfly.
  • Will practice 2x/week for 1 hour each practice
  • Starts Tuesday June 19th

Practice Schedule:

 

    Tuesdays:   4 - 5:00 pm

    Thursdays:  4 - 5:00 pm

 

Swymfit is pleased to provide Three different Swim Team opportunities for your children.  Our Senior Swim Team provides the most demanding practice schedule with three days per week of one and a half hour of practices.  Our Junior Swim Team practices three days per week, for an hour each session.   New this year is our Aqua Club Team which allows swimmers to continue to work on their skills with a less demanding time commitment of one hour practices twice per week.  Swimmers on all three teams have the option of competing in all of the scheduled Swim Meets.
